Looking for advice on the likely original carpet colour with Porcelain Green seats in a BRG Cooper S (early 66). Cheers.

There are others on here with more detailed knowledge about carpets. Have a "search" on Ausmini too.
It is said that the early Cooper S made in Australia had a Feltex carpet which was a coloured and patterned material like underfelt. It was changed shortly afterwards to a special westminister ribbed style.
Have a look at this site:

They use Tretford carpet for their mini carpets, as it is as close to the original as is available.

This is a piece of original carpet from a BRG S from under the heel pad. The colour in the photo is hard to see accurately, but looks more like a cross between "Apple" and "Olive" on the colourcard, although "Olive" would be the usual choice.

I bought a length of Bilberry and made my own carpets for a Marine Blue S a few years ago. I had the time and got the satisfaction of doing it but the carpet alone cost over $400 so the AllCarCarpets price would be worth considering.

Hello Shawky,
This is the carpet set in my'67 car. It's from All Car Carpets and the colour is apple.
I think it's close to the original colour.

Shawky,

Your car would have been Feltex.

Most likely Green carpet to match your green trim.

Doeskin was the other standard Trim and Carpet colour used on the New BRG cars but I dont believe they mixed the carpet and trim colours.

Here are a few samples of what the green feltex looks like - but faded over time.

Thank you all for your replies. So I assume the only choice I have ‘off the shelf’ is from All Car Carpets in the Westminster version since they’re not made in Feltex anymore? If so, then I’ll go for it in Apple (looks good).

Unless you want to make up the carpet yourself, Allcarcarpets seems to be an economic option: "Apple" actually looks close to the original colour, too.
A good carpet makes the interior of the car stand out.
