Alternator terminal block.jpg
Last December I posted in the 'Wanted' section for a terminal block that connected the wiring to the 8TR regulator used in early alternator setups.
My original one was a bit heat damaged.
Couldn't find any listing or part number until a kind member on here, '68+86auto' found one for sale in USA at a Triumph specialist for $US4.

But the US had a ban on mail to Australia from lack of cargo space, due to Covid (and their own political games within the Post Office).

I had the part mailed to my cousin in California, intending that she send it on to me. But the Post office quoted $28 and UPS quoted $72 to send it.
She ended up wrapping it in paper and sending it as a lumpy letter for $2.73 and it arrived today.

I thought it was going to be much easier to buy one. When I saw you were having problems with the shipping I did more searching and could not find anyone else who sold them.

Thanks for the tipoff anyway. It all worked out in the end. It cost $US6 for British Wiring to mail the part to California from Pennsylvania and less than $US3 to mail to Aust from California! My cousin seems to have enjoyed beating the system, but I wouldn't ask her to do it again.

I tried some of the UK Triumph outlets but nothing. Rimmers knew the part but had no stock - not a fast-moving product.
The new part is not from the original tooling but otherwise is exactly the same dimensions.
