Post subject: | Fitting Drip Rails |
Hi All, Following on from my previous discussion re. fitting the factory flare backing plates, I am after any tips/tricks on fitting the drip rails down the roof gutter sides? Specifically, the drip rails are straight, but the roof line seems curved. Should I start in the middle and work out? or start at one end? TIA |

Are the drip rails you have from UK? From other comments, there have not been any Australian made drip rails available for some time and they are different from the UK version, but I'm not sure how they differ. I made a set at TAFE many years ago for a rebuild. When fitting to the curved gutter line, starting at the rear, it is possible to 'walk' the drip rail to follow the gutter line for most of its length. The front 200mm or so has a greater curve, so I made a short length of drip rail and used a shrinker to get more of a curve, and welded the curved piece onto the main length. |

I posted the Australian drip rail drawing in this thread. It is a different profile to UK Minis and I'm not aware of anyone selling that exact profile. viewtopic.php?f=2&t=98158 |
