I'm after some guidance on how the visible edges of the headliner are supposed to be finished on my 1970 K. 1. B Post - assuming I am supposed to tuck the edge of the liner underneath the flange, do I continue it as a folded edge all the way to the quarter light or as a cut edge? 2. B Post - is it supposed to continue horizontally (green line) though to the quarter light or at an angle as per the red line 3. A Post - as per 1, should it be folded or cut? Attachment: Headlining.jpg Any photos of original installs will be much appreciated. Cheers, Paul. |

My K doesn't have the original hoodlining but I have copied the original installation as closely as I could. 1. Tuck under the bracket; continue folded to the door and window flange, then wrap around flange and cover with the door and rear quarter seals. 2. Runs slightly up meet the door and window flanges. 3. Similar to B pillar - also folded. Tuck under the lower edge of the cant rail if there is a slight gap. If you are trying for the original factory look, make sure you have traces of contact adhesive showing. |
