Shannon’s has this pretty honest looking 850 at the moment

https://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/20 ... fAodKFwAVA

I assume the side chrome strips and paint is a dealer extra - I kind of like it. Just made me wonder what other dealership styling details/engine/wheels were made available ? Anyone have a list/photos?

Body Moulding and Anodised Panel Kit was part no HYL2769 and also came in Gold, Red or Silver.

There are a few accessories in the brochures section viewforum.php?f=32

That's really pretty, so much want.

Thanks, I don’t think I’ve gone thru all the brochures before, I have some catching up to do. Some neat gear - not sure about the ‘turbo wheel trims’, maybe they make you sound like a turbo ?

I realised that body moulding has a mk1 cortina look about it

For those interested, the company paid the supplier, E.R. Stork (or E.R. Stock) 4 pounds even for this kit which comprised 16 separate items with each piece averaging about 5 shillings each. The side moulding accessory appeared to have disappeared off the books about 1963-1964. I don't know the sale price to the customer, but may be on one of those accessory documents mentioned above.

The 850 accessory booklet says it was 10 pounds

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an 850 brochure at the link???

I bought my (Nurburg white) 64 850 when it was 3 years old. AFAIR there really weren't many (if any??) "factory" options available. The only ones I can recall were the horrid external sun protectors..... and maybe mudflaps. With Wheels, engines and trim etc you took what you got .... maybe paint colour - with its standard matching interior - could be considered an option. As an impecunious student the only performance option I could afford was a set of radial tyres (retreads of course:)

I suppose maybe the dealer could offer a few items like radios and maybe extra lights but they were pretty rare. The Sports 850, of course, belonged to a whole different level.

The brochures shown however throw up couple of interesting anomalies. Does anyone remember how an "ordinary" Mini differed from a Deluxe?? And why was it 20 odd kilos lighter?? Maybe no remote shift box?

I presume the reduced turning circle attributed to the Deluxe is just a typo?

The only other set of trim like that I've ever seen is on the Vaughan's green car.

Cheers, Ian

PS I wonder if the buyer is going to be upset when he can't find the hydro suspension mentioned in the listing ... I suppose it doesn't actually say that *this* car is so fitted....

P2S Just looked at the video and that doesn't look like a standard interior to me.

It says the standard wasn’t fitted with hydro (under suspension heading). Interesting, i assume the hydro was more expensive as well as better then.

But they were floating on water so you would think they should have been lighter right :)

So that would make it an amphibious vehicle? ;-) 8-)
