Outbox shows sent messages that have not been read yet. I have 49 in my outbox.

I’m similar.
Is it just us? I doubt it.

It's always been like that. It's to show you if they have read your message or not. The recipient may not login very often to check their PMs or they may not use the forum anymore.

To be absolutely clear, it's a feature of the forum software to show you that your message hasn't been read by the recipient. Once read the message moves from your Outbox to your Sent Messages.

If a message is in your Outbox, it hasn't been read. If a message is in your Sent Messages, it has been read.

Thanks Doug, that makes sense.
