Hey mini team,

The white paint on the roof of my mini has been very average after sitting for so long, I had planned on leaving it as is but in the 6months I've had it back on the road & in the weather it has got alot worse (clearly) but much quicker than i had expected.

I was going to just rub it back and clear over the top as the rest of the paint is woeful too.

I am starting to think i should rub it back completely and repaint it white (more as protective measure to prevent rust damage) I have no plans to paint the car anytime soon, but i think the roof is beyond it..

Car is some version of BRG & i'm trying too work out whicih version of white is "less white" but not "Creamy White"

I have Googled & searched Ausmini for pics, but end up a little more confused.

From the 60s range of whites - Norburg, Nurburg, Toga, etc which is mid range? ie: not bright white, but not too creamy either. I see that Toga was the colour used from factory on BRG cars.

Thanks in advance.

The original roof colour would have been Old English White.

Pretty sure OEW was not used on Australian assembled cars.

Oz paint colour cards are here - viewtopic.php?f=25&t=66469

I also think the original roof colour would have been Toga or Nurburg White.
Crystal White is the starkest of the whites used originally and when it has been used as a contrast on the roof with other colours seems a bit too bright, in my opinion.

There is a PPG guide here, with modern 2K formulas for some BMC original colours:

Old English White was not used on Australian cars. Widely used on UK cars.

The roof color would have been Toga White then Snow White then Crystal white.

No. Don't go. There will be lots more questions.

It can be hard to get a close match in colour now that the systems used in the 1960s have been replaced.

I hunted around for a white that I liked when I was painting Minnie.

Lots were too white and the OEW was way too creamy for me.

I ended up going with Snowberry White, code BLWT4. From what I understand, this colour was used in the UK but not here. I wasn't after an original colour as I didn't use the original Saxon Green and made up my own blend.
