I see pictures on the web of boots with larger tank and everything fits in well. Is there a difference in the Aus boot pressings or whatever, because I struggle to fit the spare wheel in without it sitting crooked up on the battery hold down bracket? |

What size spare do you have? It’s always a bit tight with anything other than the 3.5” steel wheels |

Yes I am the same but if you look at mini boots on google images there are 10 inch with A008 as well as 12 inch that fit with ease, which is what maxe me wonder if the boot is a different shape. |

Dave I have the same problem; 10 inch wheels with A008's that are too deep to allow the boot board to fit properly. I added "furniture feet' to the mounting brackets that hold the board but that raises the board about 30mm. I then struggled to get the board to fit below the wider part of the left hand tank (and fuel level sender). I had to undo the vinyl coating of the board and plane off about a centimetre and then glue it back on. When I bought the car it had an Olympic GT Radial (circa 1970) as spare; it fitted perfectly but I'm glad that I never had to use it. Dave D |

I have 10" x 4.5" rims running Falken 165/70R10 tyres on my MK1 S. Someone warned me a spare of the same size would not fit under the boot board and advised I use a 145 tyre for the spare. He was spot on it just fits under the standard boot board. |

Clubman 1275 LS with the big tank had 145/70-12 tyres. My boss's one had 145/80-12s, someone had fitted a narrow battery so it fitted in. Sort of.. |

I have the larger LHS non efi tank and the contessa 10 inch with 165 x 10 A008 fits in with a little persuasion under the bottom of the tank. I deflate it to 25psi and snugs in ok. Battery is as big as I can get in the battery box…mind I don’t have a boot board though. |

So it would seem I have an issue with boot space, I will have to put it on my ever growing "to do list" |
