The $150, yellow pressure pack paint job on my 850 has lost its gloss, started to crack, and needs redoing. It was only ever a temporary solution to get rubber on the road quickly, I knew it would need redoing when I was putting it on. So - this time it will get done properly. What are people's thoughts on colour? I actually really like the bright yellow, but how about a classic Mr. Bean paint scheme (complete with padbolts on the doors)? |

Consider the condition of the body panels: dark colours show up ripples and imperfections; white and light colours are more forgiving. I tend to prefer colours like the originals. Cars from the '60s and '70s were very colourful. Today they are silver, white, black or red, so the old colours give you plenty of interesting colours to choose from that are not common now. Some extreme colours need stand-out accessories to look complete. If you like yellow, perhaps consider a primrose yellow (pale yellow) which was common on MGB and Jaguar as well as minis? |

I think paint it whichever colour makes you happy. I am not a rivet counting purist but I think factory colours and interior finish cannot be beat, but it is your car, do it your way. |
