Currently pulling apart my original Wingard washer pump. Is the white washer that generally needs replacing, located inside the rubber bellows of the pump? If so, how does it come apart?

Thanks and regards Fritzie

Does air come out each tube when you pump? If so I thought that's how they work, with the suck and blow function being done by the one-way valves further up the line.

Air does come out, but at a very low pressure. I did a trial this afternoon. Tried reproducing the setup in the car. Connected it up with a couple of 3mm tubes, filled the pump and tubes with water and put one end in a container of water about 300mm above the hand pump. It would pump, but very slowly and not much volume. I imagine the restriction of the finer jets may increase the pressure.
All I currently have is the pump, the bottle and the jets. I bought the car about 30 years ago with no lines etc fitted.
I will sort it out. Thanks.

You will need the one way valves connected to keep the pressure in the system. It’d only be a tiny amount of water with each pump
