Hi All,
I am in need of recommendations for a place to get a block bored and a check of the crank / mains etc. in Melbourne.
I did a search and found a thread from about 5 years ago recommending Orger Engines and BNB engines- however things change over time and didn’t know if these were still the go.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I recently had an engine built by Orgers and I am very happy with their service and their workmanship.

Orger/ Original engines came back and said they “don’t deal with that kind of work.
Still looking for suggestions??

A list of Mini sympathetic businesses is here - viewtopic.php?f=41&t=83593

Suggest you ring Brian at Link as he could tell you the machine shops they use.

Wow, I find that really surprising. They were nothing but helpful to me but it was a Chrysler engine not a Mini engine I had them build - (Not sure why that would make a difference)

The services tab on their website says they still do this kind of work. Weird.

I guess it depends on the shop, their current workload and their workshop capabilities

For example, some shops might outsource crank grinding to another specialist
Some might prefer to take on full rebuilds and not just a couple of jobs (especially if they’ve got months of work on the books)
