Ahoy, What's the "best" first welder to get for putting smaller bits of a mini onto a bigger bit of a mini? |

There will be a plethora of opinions here. I have a unimig Viper 185 and it is amazing. Mine is a bout 8 yo now has not missed a beat and upon graduating from the old SIP Migmate, it moved my welds from Zero to hero. I think every garage should have a good mig. |

Hard to Fault Unimig. I had a garage flood a couple of years ago when I was still in Melbourne, my welder was completely submerged. I pulled the cover off, dried with compressed air then gave it a couple of months to dry out, took it to work and plugged it in (didn't want to burn my own place down!). I'd written it off but nope, she's still working perfectly. |

Ha ha. Great post title. Also one of the better movies I've seen. Pure Kiwi droll humour, led by the amazing Sam Neill and backed up by the fat kid. "No child left behind" ![]() Attachment: 81-hunt-for-the-wilderpeople.jpg

I see Unimig Australia offer a free guide to MIG welding. https://unimig.com.au/ |

I just bought a CIG Weldskill 185 from Sydney Tools for around $800. Its a three in one unit so at a later stage you can do Tig wleding. I have also had great success with welding Alloy with it. Cheers Ian |

Make sure the minimum mig current is 30a or below unless it has a spot timer. |
