Hi guys. I've got some issues with my 1964 850 pre verto clutch. I've replaced all components both inside and out (flywheel to master cylinder) of the clutch system although it still isn't going into gear despite looking like it is moving normally. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or reasons why it's not working. I can pop up some more photos on Monday Cheers |

How many kays does the engine have? Could be worn crank thrust bearings. Allowing too much longitudinal movement of the crank. The force of the clutch being applied moves the crank instead of disengaging the clutch. There are so many points along the way that could cause this, it can be frustrating to problem solve. Redoing all the linkages along the way from pedal to slave. Flogged out pins or holes. Through to gearbox slop making gear changing problematic. With the front end in the air and the clutch pedal pressed in whilst in gear, do the wheels move? That can rule out internal gearbox as the primary culprit for bad changes, and would focus the attention on the clutch not disengaging, or the clutch system and/or crank. That's a good bit of advice. I'll jack the front end up and check. I know the wheels turn when I manually crank the engine in gear with the front end jacked up but am concerned it may be some synchro meshes or something. You are definitely right with it being a frustrating issue. I appreciate all the help and will try some stuff when I'm in on Monday |

Yes, he's worth watching. He knows his stuff and has nice attention to detail. Did you notice that the clutch video has a part 1 and a part 2? |
