Post subject: | Engine block identity needed |
Hi all, A mate has a block and we don’t know what size it is. We expect that it is a 998. Any help would be appreciated. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Engine number badly re-stamped as 10018638? Maybe a 998cc thick deck pre A+ (12A497) [Edit: add 12A497] |

As above it’s a 998/1098 block. If you can find the number on the crank or measure the stroke on the crank it’ll tell you more. |

1001 prefix. It's a 1098. From a Clubman YG2S7. According to John Smidt's early book. |
