I managed to find the jute underlay and vinyl from a supplier in Australia. The vinyl is used as a tornou cover on utes as I understand it. I had the original firewall insulation mat from the car but it was in bad shape and not complete. If you do a search on the forum under the title you will find a lot of information regards the two types of mats used and the grains of the vinyl and the colour which is almost a charcoal colour. Forum members sent me some photo's of the complete firewall mat which helped to complete the correct shape. I made a cardboard patten first and fitted it to find the correct locations of the cuts and then took the measurements from my old mat and came up with a nicely fitting end result. You will need to make your judgment on colour and patten but when I put old with new side by side I'm very happy. |

Looks good. I had also been told a while back that the vinyl was the same as Ute cover. The cut for the windscreen bottle, is that a long vertical slit almost to the bottom then a small horizontal slit? Does it fit around and over the bracket? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hi Phil My understanding is that the washer bottle bracket was screwed to the firewall and the insulation mat had the long cut - top to almost bottom with a small t - cut at the bottom which allowed the insulation mat to fit around the bracket and the washer bottle which makes a neat finish to the fitment of the insulation mat |
