I need to run a 145 tyre on our Mini Deluxe barn find.
With very limited options on what to use, wondering what peoples thoughts are.
Nankang or Falken. Or is there a better option other than the expensive Dunlop.

I thought the Nankang ones were trailer tyres?

I had the 145 Falkens on my car and they were fine for a standard 998

I have Falken 145-10s on the tinny trailer. 14 years old and no cracks anywhere. Still got 90% tread.
No it doesn't get towed far...

I've got the Falkens on our 850 and reckon they're ok. The rims are only 3 1/2" so not many options available. In hindsight, if I hadn't already blasted and painted my original rims, I might have upgraded to wider rims and then they'd be more choices of tyre. Given that Minnie is no power machine, the original rims and Falkens have proven to be quite good.

They’re apparently available from Stuckey Tyres in Victoria. The last I heard they were around $250 each

Minisport UK also have them listed, $440 for tyres plus $300-400 post

If you could get them in for around $150-200 fitted I think they’d sell ok

That Yoko looks good but can't see anywhere the height number of them. Just says 145/10. Could be 70 or 80.

They are 80.
I am considering a pair for the boat trailer, maybe.

Yoko seems to be a light trick tyre? Might not be the best for a mini?

Not possible..... 80 is the standard profile ratio so is not recorded on the tyre ... at least in almost 60 years of owning Minis I've never seen a 145/70 .... or a tyre marked 145/80....

Any ratio thats not 80 is recorded on the tyre.

You're right.... we don't need no steeenking tricks on our minis (sorry ... where is the tongue in check emoji :)

But Tempe's write up is somewhat confusing

"YOKOHAMA Y356 SUPER VAN

A349 is a premium high performance eco tyre that combines cutting edge tyre technologies to achieve limousine quietness, fuel efficiency and race car performance. It is an ultra high performance tyre from Yokohama that only perfectly supports the high performance of the car but also equally contributes to the aesthetics of the car. It is designed as a low profile radial tyre. A349 are good looking performance tyres than none other..."

So, is a Y356 actually an A349???? I suspect probably not. Maybe a translation issue??? When radials were new, they were all considered "low profile" as cross plies were usually 100% profile.

Probably worth a phone call if you're looking for 145s. Yoko do make good tyres....

Cheers, Ian
