What is the general consensus on fitting these? Mine has never had one in my ownership and I was wondering if it is worthwhile or not? I'm not overly bothered about the originality view - my Mini is not a show car or even remotely original. My question is more about any cooling performance benefit. https://minisport.com.au/mini-moke-radi ... d-together Cheers, Paul. |

Waste of time. Except for originality. I've not used one for 30+ years. Later UK cars didn't even have the shroud up against the radiator. Edit I meant body cowl not shroud. |

When you say the latter UK cars didn’t have the shroud up against the rad, do you mean the two pieces that are detachable on the engine side of the rad or the outer fixed body side? Cheers, Si. |

One reason they were removed is that it caused undue wear to the top radiator tank. |

And how would it do that when its not supposed to even touch the radiator?? Maybe revise your fitting technique. The gap is what the rubber seal is intended to bridge..... Cheers,Ian |

The strap is wider than the gap it fills, the retaining clips hold it hard up to the radiator. |
