Looking for a heated windscreen for my new build. They use 'em heaps in motorsport but i can't find anything in Aus. There's a few people i can find online locally, but they don't stock anything for the mini.

https://www.heatedwindscreen.com/acatal ... ml#SID=518

These guys have them available in the UK, but it'll be an $800 windscreen once its' landed and that seems a bit outrageous.

I'm aware of he electric heater boxes minisport and the like sell, but i'd rather not. I also don't want a water-type heater, the hoses in the engine bay are too messy and never look right.

Anyone know of a source for a heated screen in Aus, or know something you can fit after-market?

Alternately, want to go in for a group buy to keep freight somewhere near reasonable? Five can be shipped (sea frieght) in a single carton.

I brought one in from the UK some few years back. Talk to one of the part suppliers and see if you can piggyback on their next container load . I did this with some recompense for his trouble,. Saved a lot of money and it arrived in one piece.

This may be worth a look Stuwey, still in the uk but easier to freight. I would modify the kit to your own needs!

There was someone involved in Improved Production Racing that was adding the heating element to any screen you supplied to him, doing it properly. You have to do it off the car to do it properly.

Sorry i can't remember who it was but if you search the IPRA NSW forum or facepalm pages you might find him or someone lese offering this service to the racers.

Morning all

Lindsay Siebler has come through with the goods - he's got one at home tucked away which he has allowed me to purchase.

Now I just gotta get over there to collect it, as an unpackaged windscreen isn't really freight-friendly. With the borders opening and closing with such short notice this is proving a little tricky at the moment!

For those looking, I have since found a supplier of these in Australia - Mike Conway at PowerPlay.

Cheers

Might have to order a new alternator to run it - pulls 25 amps!
