We are talking 1968 onwards on the basis of the bands so the person the add is targeting is around 34 years old if you grandmother was 18 when your mother was born. Am I right? My parents were in bands in 1962 but missed Hendrix in 1967 when I was born. Their Hippy moment happened when we lived in the Uk during 1975. |

Great Old Mini Advert. Sadly, the imagination of the advertising agency's copy writers are responsible for creating a generation of people who are either depressed because they feel they missed out on a great time or those who did have a great time but don't remember having it. |

Ha ha, well said. You have the literary talent to be an advertising agency's copy writer. ![]() P.S. I'm in the latter category, although I do remember bits of it. ![]() |

1968? Hendrix and the Stones were some years before that...I tried to hear the Stones play at the Commemorative Pavilion, Sydney RAS Showgrounds 1966 whilst being assaulted by screaming, hysterical young things trying to get to the stage...The Searchers were support bill (great band)...and Max Merrit and the Meteors... |

I wonder whether this is actually a Mini ad.. and the date..??? Mini is sometime around 68 (don't think UK rego suffixes aligned perfectly with calendar years) - my 65S was a "C" reg. So Granny is 20 ish + or - when pictured ... so daughter born 70ish ... grand-daughter born maybe 90 ish and would need at least a few years before she was really interested in Granny's antics.. Ad doesn't really seem to make sense before the Naughties... Cheers, Ian PS I was there in the 60s ..and I do remember it (like Mick:) despite what the saying says..... ![]() |
