There appear to be different dash fixing nuts. Please advise which nut is the correct one.

I can confirm what the Doc said about the correct lock nut.

There's a little bit of trivia around the two speed wipers that were included in the SPO41 specification for the NSW Police Cooper S. Since the required switch (part BHA4786) came standard with a round locking nut a new switch part number was needed to document a swap to a hex nut so it matched the lighting switch.
