Mini van has been standing in garage for a month, started it yesterday, put it into first gear and released the clutch pedal. No drive. Same in all gears. Checked knuckle joints on back of remote gearbox and they seemed to be working ok.

Then I noticed the gap between the clutch arm and the stop was wider than normal. Looked like the clutch was permanently engaged, meaning no drive was being transferred from the engine to the gearbox. Tried to move the arm manually but it wouldn't budge.

So I removed the starter motor and used a long bar and hammer to free the clutch up, and this induced the clutch arm to move back towards the stop. Drive in all gears returned.

The spring is attached to the slave cylinder so I'm not sure how the clutch could remain engaged. Sometimes the plate can stick to the flywheel, especially in humid conditions, not allowing you to get into gear with the motor running, but why would the clutch be permanently engaged when the car is not being driven?

I'm suspecting the slave cylinder may be the culprit here.

Wow Im familiar with the bound up situation from a car standing so long due to a lazy owner.
Hydraulic pressure constantly holding it released ??
Yep undo the hydraulic line and see what happens.
Mine will be all seized together lol
