Post subject:  Headlining for 1970 Mini K

I'm looking to construct a custom headliner for my 1970 Mini K. My vehicle doesn't have one for me to pattern from unfortunately and I hope not to have to buy one just to pattern off.

So my question is: can anyone help me with the dimensions of a headliner (see dodgy diagram below)? Also how big are the tabs that the headliner rods go through?

Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi Becca22,
I have one from a 1970 Mini, I’ll get measurements for you tomorrow.

Just laid out the headlining on the kitchen floor.
Dimensions(mm)
A 1620
B 1120
C 276
D 270
E274
F 270
G 155

Comments.
1. Sides are curved, so dimension B is width at centre, near the B pillar, there is an extra 30mm width, sort of triangular in shape, see 2nd photo, to cover the front of the B pillar where it meets the door.
2. Allow about 12mm extra overlap on edges for folding.
3. Rod tabs are about 12mm wide from the fold to the stitching, see 1st photo, so extra material width would be needed for stitching to the headlining.

Hope this helps and good luck.

This is fantastic, thank you for taking the time to do that for me.
