Hi - this is mainly directed at Allen p7676, but happy to hear from anyone What's the best way to fix the crease in the rear quarter of this car? Attachment: drvinemini (15).JPG I don't know if the crease happened when the damage around the tail light happened, but this car has a crease on both sides as if an elephant has sat on it's bum and pushed it forwards keen on your thoughts Simon |

I have been told this does happen to Minis although I have not seen this on a mini, To fix you will need a porto power which is an hydraulic body jack ,using rubber heads on the porto fit each end under the wheel arch with the wheel off. Check dimensions of wheel arch off another car then pump the porto to spread the wheel arch it will need to move the wheel arch a small amount more than the dimension that you took ,as you will get spring back. Now tap down directly on the top of the crease using a metal hammer, tap the whole crease you may have to hit with a bit of force on the crease it is better to leave the crease slightly low when finished, DONT forget to check your measurement points as you do the repair. The crease is caused by wear and tear it can also be cause by a rear hit. If you still have problems pm me as I know someone who has done plenty of this type of repair and he can be contacted if need be. Allen |

Like TK suggests. Does the boot floor have any damage; does the rear bumper bar follow the curve of the lower edge of the boot opening? |

Yes, at least one hit in the rear is likely. The bootlid is mismatched already. The car isn't mine but I have made an offer on it, I don't know if the boot floor or rear seam are damaged but I wouldn't be surprised... |

If there was impact from the rear, the damage to the boot floor would have to be pulled out before the rear quarter panel distortion can be straightened. |

I bought the clubman - I took the tank out yesterday and had a go at the tail light Attachment: 20201024_152632.jpg here are the creases in the boot floor - there is a big one and a little one - I drew along the ridgeline Attachment: 20201024_152713.jpg Attachment: 20201024_152846.jpg advice on how to fix it appreciated, even if that advice is to take it to a body shop and have them put a stretcher between the wheel arch and rear panel |

I backed my 850 straight into a pole late one night 50+ years ago. It creased the lower boot panel and boot, badly. Being a poor apprentice of limited means, I attached a porta power clamp, hooked it around a tree and let the clutch up a few times. It pulled 95% of it out. Another boot lid and a lick of paint, all good. YMMV as it's on one corner...

Mostly, however, the boot floor has been distorted and may take a lot more persuasion and purchase to pop that out...not to mention rear subframe alignment etc |
