Hiya, Hope everyone is keeping safe in these strange 'new' times, after my clubby sitting in the shed and not getting as much love from me after back surgery and then hitting a roo on a highway while on a motorbike (more surgery), I am looking for suggestions on who to chat with in regards to body repair + paint. I'd like to get it done professionally and everything, i.e. remove/repair gutters find and cut rust, and as much as possible full metal repair, open up sills /joins,repair rear deck where speaker holes have been cut out etc if warranted to check/clean behind everything. Looking for a good job that will last and last more than price, the timeframe isn't rushed. There are some other things in the driveway at the moment I need to move to get the vehicle out of its current home, it's still in rolling condition, I can probably strip it down a little further to make life a little easier. I live near Port Adelaide but willing to travel with it for the right job. p.s. Probably the same for the engine/driveline too at some point once this part gets moving. Cheers |

I bought a body through Minisport in Adelaide and they got a guy they use to prep and paint before it was shipped to me. I was happy with the quality. Maybe give them a call and find out who they use? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk |

You need to work out how much this is going to cost $$$$. Is it worth it ? a good mk 2 CS just sold for $20,000 in Queensland. I know the cost of repairs and paint will be at least $50.000 ,Yes I know someone on this site will say you can do it for $20.000 .I have seen numerous repairs that have never lasted, and panels never fitted correctly. I have restored numerous cars and minis take a lot of time to do as most new panels are hard to fit. Good luck with the project and keep in mind only use quality materials . Allen |

Cheers for the replies, yeah 50k is probably getting a bit far , i could cope at around 20 but its still a bit ouch. Its a 1275LS and needs quite a few original bits found so i'd say worth less than a mk 2 CS but I am suprised a good one would go for around 20k where most of the second hand market is up about 25% for normal cars at the moment too. Its something i want to keep for a long term, so the price per year isnt such a bad thing to do it properly, Its not overly rusty as it stands, i'd just like it not to re-rust in 3 years. I guess digging it out of the shed and getting it on a trailer is the first thing I need to do so i can get actual advise of the price, or spend the 20k on a mk 2 CS and get a poor job done on the LS ![]() |

I was surprised as well, CS $20.000 look on this site ebay gumtree etc to see it. I thought my CS would be worth $60.000 now maybe not .I spent a lot of money on it, even though I do everything myself except the motor and gearbox. Good Luck with future projects. Always do your planning before you start a project. Allen |
