So, today I started replacing all the leaky gaskets and oil seals in the Moke's engine - one of my many lock-down projects. The engine is out of the Moke and sitting on my little trolly. Never had any trouble with it, but today I had the engine a little off to one side and not realising it, pulled the trolley towards me and the whole lot tipped over. The engine fell full-force onto its front. It's not a long way to fall, the trolley is only about about four inches or so off the ground, but the weight of the engine is such that it smashed the oil filter head and smashed the end of the starter motor. That might sound a little odd, but I have a starter motor from a Holden Gemini and the mount/front plate is cast alloy. Luckily I had another Gemini starter motor, non-functioning, in the shed so was able to change the end cover over, so all good there.

I was surprised the dizzy cap escaped unscathed, so a small win there.

Sadly, I don't seem to have another oil filter head in any of my storage lockers.

I have looked online and the new alloy heads are a bit pricey for me at the moment, given I've had almost no income for three months due to this stupid COVID.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone here, particularly in the Geelong area, has a spare filter head they are willing to part with. I'm happy to pay for it, I just don't have the budget for the new item. But not having it is holding me up, so I need to get it quickly. By the way, I'm looking for the head for the spin-on Z82/Z418 oil filter, not the paper canister type.

Please PM me if you can help out.

Thanks,
Watto The Clumsy.

Looks like this has now been sorted, thanks to Rob Diamante. Cheers, Watto.
