Hello again,

My project is moving alone and I now have the motor starting. I noticed an oil drip, off the sump, radiator side of the motor. I've checked the obvious areas. Then I noticed oil on the fanbelt and pulleys.

Is this likely to be from the timing cover seal not seated correctly around the harmonic balancer ?

Thanks

Yep could certainly be. Ideally you put on the harmonic balancer before you cinch up the cover bolts to make sure it is concentric.

Did you do the motor, is it a recent rebuild?

You can also check the crescent rubber seal on that side of the gearbox/main cap.

And/or somewhere else between block and crank.

I'd go hunting.
