I am about to refurbish the interior of the fuel tank and wonder how to protect the pickup mesh if i choose to coat the inside.. I know others have put the coating in there , so looking for some guidance on how to not block the pickup pipe. The tank may or may not need the coating ... so i suppose i should do a fill/leak test now while its out .... Anywho Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Dr Mini always says to poke something up the outlet pipe to remove the mesh completely and run a proper modern fuel filter underneath the tank... |

If you do this make it a decent sized filter so restriction doesn't starve the pump. I have used Falcon or Holden metal case ones before. Don't use Purolator etc glass case filters under there they can get broken. |

I was under my car last night - I just have a basic straight through plastic filter, nothing special - about 1.5" diameter and maybe 2.5" long. Even when I was running supercharger/injection with 100bhp@atw I used a pretty normal type of filter before the fuel pump |
