Did Australia always use R Clips to attach the cleavis pin to the master cylinders? Some bloke is saying that they did since 1965. True?

I buy them here from Nepean Boltmaster.

Most fastener shops have them.

So, Did Australia always use R Clips to attach the cleavis pin to the master cylinders?
Back in the days I always found and used split pins.
If so, when were they introduced?

The 850 parts book only has the split pin

I'm not sure they were ever "introduced". More likely is that in more recent times, R clips for the *clevis* pins have been used when the master cylinders have been removed for one reason or another and the installation of the locking pin has weighed in favour of the R clip because it is decidedly easier to insert.

Some joker on Facebook was saying that R Clips were introduced to all Minis and Mokes from 1965.

None of the documentation I have in parts books and change points mentions R clips being used on the brake and clutch clevis pins on Oz Minis at any time during the production period.

Are you able to ask "the joker" what supporting evidence he/she has? Like others I am always willing to learn and be corrected where new information surfaces.
