Reassembled the Mk2 S gearbox. A little tight! Took it over to my pommie mate. I think I've got 3-4 inner syncro hub wrong way. My excuse - It's been over 40 years since I have stripped one down. Give me a break!⚙

Rebuilt a Weber 45DCOE for an ausmini member's rally car. :) As his twin HS4s are a PITA to start when cold. Always.

Fitted my new switch panel surround (aftermarket) as all my tabs had broken off my original chrome one. The aftermarket is just shiny aluminium, not chrome.......

Also started prepping my new flares as the front 2 are getting a bit ugly and found my rear 2 are wide ones with wide backing strips and are pretty well dead. All the new plastic flares have random casting defects......

Front subframe prep - top arm rebuild x2

Pulled the loom out in preparation of a new life without melted wires and terminals but rather relays, fuses, and deutsch connectors.

Mocked up a cardboard Weber box to see if I can realistically fit the 3-gauge binnacle.

Full steam ahead!

Painted the inside of the boot, rebuilt the carb, new air filter, painted a few engine bits, cleaned up the bear head and engine faces of old gasket gunk ready for new bits to go on.

Now to find all of the nuts and bolts!!

Flushed the cooling system, new plugs, thermostat housing, discovered more bodgery of the electrics, passed it's engineering inspection, drove it to Orange and back with only a few minor niggles to resolve.

Took it for a drive with my daughter on Saturday. Hadn't been out on it for a while and it rightly complained for the first few kilometers, popping and farting and trying to stall. But after a few k's it settled down and we had a rather nice drive. Note to self you must drive it more often. !!
