took #2 and #3 daughter to a motorkhana with the Wangaratta club - the 3 of us made up half of the field of 6. So we were drivers #1, #3 and #5... we did 3 runs of 5 different tests, plus 1 run at a 6th test. That makes 16 tests each, being 48 tests in total. We rotated through the tests without a break in between, so the engine was running all day with only a break at lunch time, then running again till we finished about 1:45.... didn't get much over 2/3 on the temp gauge... that's pretty good I reckon

On Sunday I started it, reversed it out the garage, gave it a quick wipe over to make it shine like a new penny and then took the kids out for a drive. Fun times had by all.

I got my new licence plates and "log book" today! $95 is much better than $860 a year :D

I need to do something about the rear licence plate, it looks much too small for the flap on the boot now

I took the engine out of my Nb 'look' 850. It idles beautifully but won't rev and the gear change is appalling. So this engine is going into the Moke which is smoking terribly.

I hope that with the moke's carby and a different distributor it will run properly. I will check the cam timing while it is out. I'll also add some timing marks to its lightened flywheel while I can. What a pain that is !

I then need to get 2 engines and one gearbox rebuilt. I hope Matt Read has some time.

1275 primary gears are expensive new, so a friend and I got 7x 998 ones bored out by a toolroom to take a 1275 floating front bush. Can't do this on my little Myford lathe, they are bloody hard!
