Thought I should test out my mini trailer while I still have a mini. Been putting it off for 12 months. Just fits.

Picked up the car from having my 4 synchro magic wand box being fitted to my 1100S powered 850.
Idler gear bearings were replaced and the cam bearing fitted the right way around to stop the timing cover filling with oil.
Also had a RE266SS cam fitted.
The gearbox also had a 2.95:1 diff in place of the original 4.13:1
Cruised home up the M4 at 110 kph easy peasy, give the throttle a squeeze and away it scoots 8)
Sooooooooooo happy :D

Picked up some new parts today. Engine mount, water pump, quick change rod coupling, oil seal kit for rod change gearbox, fan belt and some wheel nuts. Have got the radiator out and water pump off and ready to replace a few parts.
Gtogreen1969 looks like a nice tilt trailer with ramps you've got there. The sides on the trailer necessitates the winch and you might not want to drive it on anyway. What size is the trailer and have you had to convert it ?
cheers

Its an 8x5. Yes I had to put the winch on because of the high sides. The only draw back to a dual use trailer is if you drive it on you need to jump out the window. I picked it up a while ago for $1500. Took a while to find a single axle with brakes and removable tail gates. Rated to 1400kg gross so I can carry 1050kg. I did have a 6x4 and a car trailer but got rid of them when his came up. Also has a removable cage with swinging doors which was perfect for moving the goats.

That engine bay is starting to fill up but there is still room for an overflow bottle. :P

Re-registered my mini this week after a passed inspection, and another 300 kilometer run down the highway to home.

Drained coolant and flushed block and heater (yuk). Removed radiator, water pump, generator. Cleaned up and started repainting the radiator shroud and top bracket. Cleaned up and painted water pump, generator and coil bracket. Will touch up block paint. Removed dodgy heater tap. All ready for new heater tap, fan blade, fan belt, radiator hoses, bypass hose, radiator, radiator cap, heater hoses, nuts, bolts, gaskets, seals, hose clamps, heater tap studs, and on it goes. Funny how one little thing leads to a million others.

Less total weight than his soarer sports sedan that comes in at a hefty 1400 kg. Distribution was worked out so that ball weight was ok. The lathe is only about 300kg and only about 70kg is in the cabinet at the front. Easy peasy.
Normally would not have the mini right at the back like that on its own.

A few weeks ago I was replacing rubber cones and had to remove the fuel tanks to get to the passenger side shock mounts. So while they were out I thought I'd give them a touch up.

The rectangular tank is a secondary tank that the previous owner/ builder fabricated and mounted to the back of the the rear firewall.

Next job once paint is dry is to put the tanks back in and start on front cones while replacing the lower control arms with new adjustable ones and play with hi-lo adjustments to get it all level again with the new cones.
