Took the young bloke to his first mini meet. He was very upset that we didn't win the loudest car - only 100db.

My first Mini's at the Mill (Birdwood Mill) too. Great seeing all those mini's in one place, and thanks gtogreen for saying hello and for all your help. A pretty long trip for me in the mini and best of all we got home in one piece. Our friends who came for the ride had a ball.

The mini is doing daily duties this week, and I've found a leak in the bottom corner of the windscreen from all the rain..

Finished Exams
Picked up new full loom from Vintage Wiring Harness in Ringwood
Got some time/motivation to get work going on the mini again, so I organised the garage and started writing a list of things to do/buy.
Now just waiting on the 1293 to be finished.

Mokesta,
re the Weber chokes, Give it a good soak with penetrene or WD40.
Warm the body up with the hot air gun then helps too.
Or, you can cut a bit of flat bar stock with rounded ends and a tapped hole in the middle, to fit behind the choke. Then put a bolt & big washer on the outside, and wind it out.

Thanks Kev! Penetrene plus the hot air gun plus some persuasion and the both came out.

Sorted :)

Changed the oil and filter and cleaned and gapped the plugs with the help of my 2 year old boy. He has already worked out which pedal makes it go vroom. If you let him sit in the drivers seat while it is ticking over he flaws the throttle and laughs his little head off. Little bugger !!
Took the covers off the seats in readiness to take the Upholsterer to be retrimmed, they look pretty sorry for themselves right now but will look new and shiny soon.

My mini hadn't been run for two weeks before we went OS for 6 weeks.
Was fiddling the other day and found the fuel tank had rusted through the bottom.
Bought a 7-1/2 gallon tank and fitted that.
Pored in 10 litres of 98, turned on the ignition, pumped ticked away, pushed the floor starter and away she went.
Not bad after sitting there for 12 weeks. :D
My Subaru needed a new battery after not being used for 6 weeks. :(

Got the angle grinder out and cut a hole in the drivers side floor of my son's $355 hydro Clubby. Made a couple of patches for it from 1.5mm zincseal sheet.
Surprisingly, that's about 1/2 the rust in the whole car! The rest is in the LH A panel, which I'll replace.

Took it for a drive with the kids. Running very nicely today it's amazing what an oil change and clean plugs can do!! It was like bumble was telling me he was happy.

Reseat LH rear tyre, replace LH engine mount as the installed one had split in two, cleaned out rh front drum. So after a front to back examination my next move will be a hot pressure wash on all suspension and both subframes.

Took it for a 50km drive went very nicely. Pulled nice and strong and enjoyed 5 speed box about 3000rpm at nearly 60mph
