Progressed on the mini with wiring nearly finished. Added relays.to anything I could lay my hands on and installed a pair of period hella driving lights with 100w h3 globes. Waiting on a reply from convertible mini regarding some wiring pointers.

Made and fitted a new brake line that runs under the floor from front to rear, to replace the rusty one that I removed yesterday after it failed Friday morning.
No, not a fun job, but all bled and stopping again now.

On the up-side... I got to use my new eastwood style brake flaring tool I bought a couple of weeks ago! Fantastic! :D

Converted my weber box into a radio box. Now it doesn't look like a race car.

Not my car, but a friend's Clubby..
I used the oxy torch to burn the nut off the diff's RH drive flange (rubber uni). Some gorilla did it up, or Loctited it or both. 1.5M extension bar didn't work, nor did the rattle gun.
It was expendable anyhow, as it's getting pot joints.

Today I put the chrome trim down the driver's side of the car. Did a better job than the other side but still a bit rubbish.

Then I put a battery in it and got these working:
Head lights, parkers and high beams
Number plate light
Indicators
Interior light
Washer pump
Gauge lights.

The multi meter sure got a workout!! It's a new replacement harness and no diagram so a few earths and connectors were hard to run down. I am just glad I didn't set the thing on fire. Only made sparks once and didn't even blow a fuse. Couldn't use the original fuse box. Too corroded so it has a '78 date Moke one in now.

Now I need help working out how to wire the 2 speed wipers in. The switch has maybe 7 pin outs and the wiper has 5 pin plug plus an earth. It has me stuffed. This could be one for Tony B..

Then I pulled down my Weber 45. No idea how to get the chokes out. They should just fall out but they are stuck firm and there is nowhere to tap them with a drift. Soaking up the penetrene now.

Mokesta,
re the Weber chokes, Give it a good soak with penetrene or WD40.
Warm the body up with the hot air gun then helps too.
Or, you can cut a bit of flat bar stock with rounded ends and a tapped hole in the middle, to fit behind the choke. Then put a bolt & big washer on the outside, and wind it out.

Gave the car a wash, then took the kids out for a quick drive to fill the car up with fresh petrol. Kids loved being in the mini so much we went cruising. Much fun was had by all.
