Haven't used the red car in months! Topping up the battery and tyres today for a good run tomorrow.

I might go and try to find some snow :)

....or alternatively black ice :(

Fitted new tie bar bushings - easier job than I thought - spent more time looking for one of the nuts which had rolled behind the front wheel out of view!

Also fitted new wiper arms and blades. No. More. Missed. Spots. :D Should have done that ages ago.

Took it in to Mini king this morning for some tuning work and a full grease up.

Cleaned the disassembled switch panel last night.
One switch had been glued by a PO and broke again.
Also missing the springs for two of the switches, hope i have something that will do the job in the shed.

Got it out of the garage yesterday, gave it a quick wash to get the dust off and then went for a cruise in the sunshine. Kids had the usual fight over who was going to go with me, I only have one child seat in the back to the 3 of them have to take turns. Great to get it out on a sunny Sunday, lots of other classics around in Williamstown but didn't see any other mini's. Loving the new disc brakes worth every penny.

I made up a drift to press in the idler bearings for my engine build.
So I thought Id try and make a time lapse of the ordeal.

Thinking about throwing beers and a BBQ out there to get some like minded mini types around to my place to finish off my mini. Been sitting now for 6 years without driving him and is sad to see him sitting in the garage all idle. Have the engine in and all the suspension done but not putting the supercharger on until he is properly run in and registered. Unfortunately uni and work have all my time sewn up and I can't get any time in the garage. I so do hope nursing pays well and I can do what I want to do with him in the not too distant future.

Would there be any takers if you are in SE QLD...?? Could even spot you a bunk for the night/s if there were too many sherbs partaken in...lol.

Hooroo

Cool video! Lathes are fun. :D

Did you know that any time lapse video can be greatly enhanced by setting it to the tune of 'yakety sax'?

Watch it again but with this playing in the background: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MK6TXMsvgQg

Back on topic, I flushed the radiator and fitted a new radiator cap to the 850 today.

Boo with a roll pin. You shouldn't repair minis at night. Still cannot find the roll pin

carb back on after it played lets leak on to the manifold. There's a lot of little parts in a hif44 carb

Took it to the all British day at Newcastle foreshore. About 20 minis there. Nice to meet some Ausmini members I hadn't met before- John Sneddon with his 997 Cooper and also Courtney from Taree with his immaculate MK2 's'. Also caught up with GraemeinAus and Monte as well as Evan (Rylstone classic fame) and Phil from Minis in the Gong.

The car started and drove it up the road for its first outing in 38 years.
