you know what's interesting about that one - the one from Wakka is thin on black paint on the chequered flag in exactly the same way... maybe we've actually bought NOS badges...

I had a feeling they were NOS and as the order grew in numbers they ran out of old stock and ordered more which were the new version.

There is a badge listed here, one photo with the 3d detail and one without. On sale for 2600 Yen, which is under $30AU. Might be worth a look if you're still chasing one and can get some more info from the seller

Got my Japanese friend to read - just says normally 12,960 yen. No info about it otherwise. Austin Cooper S badge shows back of Morris moulded badge so would assume they are just painted badges.....
