Most of what you think is UNC (in cup head bolts etc) is actually Whitworth. Was the main bolt standard here until fairly recently.
TPI of Whitworth is the same as UNC, except 1/2" is 12 not 13. Thread angle is 55deg not 60, but the nuts fit except the 1/2".

Thanks everyone, unfortunately l went to bleed the brakes and one of the front caliper bleed nipples had snapped off in transit from minisport, I've tried masters hardware, repco and autobarn with no luck!

Try a real brake shop on Monday.

Bunnings are pretty effin' useless unless it fits a house, I went looking for some Stag jointing compound today and just got blank stares.

Very true, though I will give credit to masters they have a pretty good range of fixings, for automotive, mechanical works, 20x better than any "Sunday auto store"

Masters have champion draws with most of there stuff http://www.championpartsonline.com.au/ masters is on the st marys leauges club block

today never ended...

it started off as replacing wheel bearings at my placed, then it progressed to my father-in-laws to get his 10ton press.....

then we discovered the drive shaft boot was damaged (the gear box end) and when investigating that... the drive shaft *fell* out.

Either way, there were only 4 ball bearings instead of 6.... so that put a stop to that.. need some parts. probably I good thing we gave it a little yank.

So we decided to do the other wheel bearing while the press was at my place.... everything was going perfectly on that side... until the brake hose cross threaded and stripped when were were putting it back on... need some parts... grr

freaking painful day today...

Pulled my shock absorber tower mounts off in my quest to find any rust. After seeing what is behind there on some of the pommie cars I was surprised to find good clean steel. A bit of rusty dust around the screw holes only. Whew! Very happy now. Time to start my plan for the two spots of rust repair and prevention everywhere else.

Got a stone chip in my nice 9 month old laminated windscreen. The screen was free from Shannons, but looks like I'll be paying to fix the chip.

I wasn't game to drive it in case it spread, and didn't want to park it 3 months. Soooo, O'Briens fixed it today, $152. I'd requested a quote from the other mob starting with N, but they failed to contact me, so meh.

Took it for a rego check & ........ failed. *sigh* Minor gearbox oil leak & leaking exhaust.
Decided to bring forward the exhaust mods. Dropped it off to get a 2.5" stainless system installed. :)
Afterwards I'll take it back to the guys who did the gearbox work & get the 'box leak fixed.

Refitted 165 main jets in the Dellorto instead of 160s. It might use slightly more fuel but it's less fussy when cold & goes harder!
