Hey Rodney,

Love the bonnet stay. Is that a conversion kit available somewhere? Or have you custom fitted a gus strut yourself?

Its an old gas strut fron a nissan patrol. 2 of them wouldnt hold up the patrol bonnet but 1 makes the mini bonnet smack me in the chin every time I open the bonnet. I got 2 on the rear doors aswell.

Go to a wrecker and buy a 2nd hand one something you can just oush by hand and just mount it on the bonnet hinge first then work out where to bolt on inner gaurd.

Found a retro fit kit online http://minisport.com.au/prod1527.htm but at $98 I might give your idea a go, in fact I think I have an old gas strut in the garage! cheers

P.S. I'm still laughing at the image of you knocking yourself out every time you open ya' hood ha ha....

Yeah the barn doors do it too. First few times my daughter opened the doors it knocked her on her bum. Really hard not too laugh.

Will take some measurements of the bonnet strut next time it goes up

Poor girl!

I hope your bonnet catch is good n strong wouldn't want it popping open while doing MACH 1 on the freeway!

Had 4 new Federal Tyres fitted to rims $75 each 145/70 12.
Tyreplus Engadine a good price and friendly service.
Also check brakes and found the RH rear wheel cylinder had seized. Peps at Engadine had one in stock $29.95, should have fitted on saturday morning. Booked in for a blue slip on Tuesday 18 Feb.
Will the mini magic be on the road on Wednesday?
