I thought that was a problem, there were no insructions?

I'm really keen to get a black box into my mini, but have a couple of hesitations, mostly based on my limited knowledge of timing and advance curves, etc. I want to have more consistent spark, reliability and more control over it all, but I understand very little of how it all works lol

Also, I'm running a 1500cc ohc motor in my mini, so I'm not sure I would be able to transfer peoples inputs using A series engines over to my application very accurately.

Also, convertible mini, whats the cost on a kit anyway?

I got the instructions but no lock wire...
What is the most suitable lock wire to use?

UK boxes were supplied with 0.6mm SS welding wire. I have used 0.8 on others (because I have a MIG spool of it).

I might redo mine then, all I had to hand was fairly soft iron tie wire..

I went to a motorcycle shop and they sold me a little packet of Aviation lock wire
Its used to tie up handlebar grips on motorcycles when they come loose

Don't bother, it will be fine as is.
Plenty strong enough.

Unfortunately the Manufacturer of the Stealth Box does not supply the lock wire. They do not want to take the responsibility of things going wrong in that process. Which is fair enough. There are various ways people prefer to use for locking the advance weights. Other news is I have asked them to change the program Disc to Windows 10 and they are going to do it.

Tony,

If the manufacturer does the change of the program disc to Windows 10, do you know if it will be available so everyone can download it and upgrade from the original XP / Windows 7 disc supplied?

Cheers Shane

It will be supplied as a disc as before with new units sold.

Hello,

I'm over here in the states, but would be interested in acquiring a black box for my long suffering Elf project (it's been apart for quite some time! :D )

Questions: Does the exe really come on a floppy? Is there somewhere (or someone) who can email it, or possibly post to a dropbox? I'm not entirely certain I could find a floppy drive....

Also, can this be used with vac advance?

I'm pretty new to the whole Ignition curve game, but this looks like a good way to get started!

Daniel

Mine came on a usb stick. But box bought via Accuspark.
It's only a relatively small .exe file, could be emailed.. [edit] I did this once already.

Lots of new laptops have no Cd drive. I used a cd desktop to get it onto a USB stick.
