Cars between YMA2S1 12500 and YMA2S1 15500. I am trying to pin point when the passenger floor chassis number stamping ceased.

I've had a '62 850 shell sitting in the shed for well over 20 years (my then 16yo son stripped the car down and lost interest) and it's #14423.

As you can well imagine it had stuff stored around, over and in it, but since it was raining out today I got stuck in!!

I'm not exactly sure where on the floor the stamping would be, so I buffed back a strip a few inches wide from the passenger's door to the tunnel (see pic) and found nothing.

The white (platinum) is the original paint.

Have I covered the area where the stamping would be or do I need to go further?

I've left all the crap I moved out of the way until you give me the nod...

Thanks for that. The stamping is usually a few inches in from the inner door sil. Close to the floor mat/carpet stud bracket. It should be easy to see with the passenger door open and the passenger seat tilted forward. They get very rusty because the chassis numbers are stamped after painting which can chip the paint. However after a few repaints and sound proofing they are hard to find. I don't want you to remove too much paint looking for it for me unless you were going to do it anyway.

Ok that cleared up where I needed to be. I went right along that rear section of the door opening and there’s no stamping.

That narrows your search area a little bit then I guess! Good luck with it mate.

Appreciate your help mate.

Looks like the Passenger floor chassis number was deleted somewhere between YMA2S1 12493 and YMA2S1 14423.
