Some very useful stuff in that! I've already got 4 different books for it. Mine is a standard 1100 cop car so it's all over the place. J

If I'm carrying on like a pork-chop, I'm having a great time.

If I go very quiet there's a very good chance I broke something.

Green/Blue trace is the temperature sender from "near the coil" - maybe the thermostast housing?
Where is the temp signal coming from if this is not connected? Is this why the temp gauge is wobbly?

See, that's what I thought at the time but it is definitely connected correctly from the sender in the head. Ill have to paint strip the wire and get the trace colour. I have electronic points and the fuse wire connected to the coil i think that's all there is?

Do you mean your 'spare green wire' connects to the 12v terminal on the voltage stabilizer and ends near the coil but is not connected to anything?
If so, could it have been for some piece of equipment the police installed, like the handbrake warning light in their Ss?

Green main colour seems to be used for indicators and warning and stop lights and some other minor power supplies like heater fan (was there one in engine bay?), reversing lights, wiper.

Yeah that's what seems to be the case though I've had the whole loom apart at some point. It's just a wire disconnected at both ends at the moment I'm not certain anything is missing yet ha ha

Well, blue is for headlights: Blue/Red for low (dipped); Blue/White for high (main). Any signs of driving/fog lights around the front? Holes in stone tray apron?
I think the Lucas wire code has Blue/Yellow for driving lights but plain Blue might be close enough.
