Well done Winabbey.Yes Aussies can fix this to exact spec as per Kev .Might be a chance for an Aussie company to give us what we want and refuse what isnt to spec.

We need to be careful saying something "isn't to spec." If what's being supplied now is appropriate for the purpose with no reported side effects then it shouldn't really matter how the part was made many years ago. If this is really an issue why hasn't it come light previously?

I have just received a reply from my supplier who tells me that it is indeed a bearing surface.

I have asked if the material is on both sides.

It's usually just the rear face of the plate that wears, as the cam thrust is forward.
