John, I assume this is a self-published effort and that people will be able to order direct from you?

Good luck with the venture 8)

All a matter of preference, of curse, but I refuse to include words like classic when talking about the original Mini's as opposed to the modern BINI cars

The graphic design work for the book is almost complete, thanks to some very long hours put in by my daughter, and hopefully will be delivered to the printer next week. The book name chosen is "Australian Mini & Moke - 1961 to 1982" and takes the format detailed above. In all it will contain approximately 300 pages (the final page number has not been set as yet) printed in A4 portrait format on 110 gsm paper with a full colour cover of 300 gsm of plasticised coated cardboard. For those of you whose eye sight is not what it once was I have adopted a moderate text font which will make reading easier.

The official public launch of the book will be at The Mini Big Day Out 4 December in Melbourne.
I will be taking advance orders for delivery on this day, and as part of the official launch will sign books for those who are interested.
A copy of the front cover will be posted in the coming days and to those involved in producing the photo for the cover a very big thank you. Those who have assisted with information over the past years I thank you as well, particularly one member who has assisted immensely.

My aim from day one was to produce a book which while being informative was not over expensive. To this end the book price will be $45 plus postage if required and I trust that you will enjoy reading it once received. All those questions which have been and still are being asked with regards to the different models built and the number manufactured of each model, the numerous production changes which occurred along the way, the meaning of the various codes adopted by BMC and later Leyland along with much more will be answered.

I look forward the the launch of what has been a very enjoyable task of nearly nine years and started out when I began reading about Australian Mini production and found many holes in the existing information. I began taking notes for my own benefit, my book is the result of those notes.

Enjoy your Mini (& Moke)

I should have added that I do not expect any deliveries will be possible before early December due to time required to print. I will be adding a Facebook page shortly which will have ordering details.

I will also be definitely adding this book to my ever growing list of books about the mini. Good thing I am in melbourne to buy the book directly on the release date. :)
