Get the car delivered to Melbourne, and fly over to grab it and drive the rest.
Since the Spirit travels at night you'll have all day to check the car over before loading.

There's plenty of help in Melbourne if need be I'm sure.

I'm inclined to agree with Harley on this one......getting it to melbourne should be easy, and it's not hard to drive the rest of the way. Also lets you see a little of country with your new baby, and maybe drop in and show him off to some of the Vic members??
