Tinymorris , if you need to pump brakes they have air in the system and are dangerous , as everyone has said above , a booster does nothing else other than make the pedal easier to push , nothing else , it doesn't take up a slack pedal or fix any problems requiring the pedal to be pumped , it just makes it easier to push . Haven't they taught you about brakes in your apprenticeship yet ?

We've got 2 Minis with S brakes and no servo- EBC Blackstuff and EBC Greenstuff pads, they both stop fine. But the 1412 Clubby van will get S brakes and a servo, only because I've got one...

The VH44 was optional on all Aussie Minis from about 65. (till when?)
You could order a Mini Deluxe with a booster from a BMC dealer.

I like boosters on Minis, provided everything else is spot on.
Don't fit a booster on 40 year old hoses and rusty pipes.

I think they are great. I don't like standing on my brakes, as I'm used to cars which you don't need to.

I would use one, always, track or road, but that's just me.

i got a booster on my 1100 with cooper discs at the front , i sorta prefer it cause ive heard without the booster u need to pump a few times for it to get firm with the booster its already firm the down side to the booster u cant really have a feel of how much pressure u have on the brakes so u sometimes end up in a lock up, but it helps in an emergancy situation

Or you could just bleed and adjust them up properly....
