maybe you could use the solid mount kit Minispares make to replace the rubber mounts. Part Number MSSK3010, but no pic in the catalogue unfortunately

You need those holes in the front apron. Without them, you CANT bolt the front of the subframe onto the panel. There is no way around it.

BUT

You might be lucky.....

The previous owner might have been smart enough to weld some nuts to the panel before bogging it over, which means you could put the bolt in from behind, thru the rubber spacer and into the captive nut............ if you know what i mean.....

you ought to get those silly side indicator holes filled up as well, but definitely get the engine bay painted if you take it back....

It looks as if it was painted right where it sits. You can see spray on the concrete floor.

And its not just the engine bay that needs paint.... the A-pillar, the rear pockets and inside the B-pillars, under the rear side windows, the lower dash rail.... have all missed. They shouldve been done first, then masked off before doing the outside.

The rest looks good though.

Hey guys thanks for all the suggestions, I'm doing a swift conversion so I've still got a bit of work to do cutting the engine bay and then i was going to paint it black. Inside i'm going to basically line everything i can in either material or vinyl, i'm half way through chopping up my swift dash and going to transplant it in. Yeah i thought i did an ok job on the paint seeing as it was my first real attempt, Its a Ferrari red with an aluminium flake through it so its purty under lights. I'm pretty chuffed actually :D I was planning on using sportspak arches so i thought the side repeater would look alright, i think i might go W&P though now so i'm not sure how they will look.

Does anyone have a pic of this rover to morris subframe adapter kit. That might be a goer. I'll definitely look to see if there is a captured nut, If worse comes to worse i suppose i can always drill a hole and then maybe grommet it up... Or once everything is together put some cool sort of camera in there...

Yeah i agree!!! Ur gunna b doing all sorts of cuttin and shuttin and workin on the car tryin to squeeze that motor in, the paint and body work will b thrashed by the time ur finished gettin the engine to fit..... I dont understand why u would paint it 1st?

U need to be able to mount the subframe at the front, no two ways about it.

Yeah, good luck with that one!
