If you have taken out all the shims on the rear left and it still has toe out then I can see 2 options.

1. Fit adjustable camber / toe brackets.

2. Or play around with your old brackets yourself by elongating the large pivot hole to move the radius arm forward. Then weld a thick washer in place to stop it moving back. Maybe even welding up part of the old hole as well to stop it moving back. You could even play with the camber while your at it.

Nothing wrong with a little bit of toe out... they turn in better.

I tried toe out at Wakefield Park, it was unnerving..!
And I'm used to oversteer, I was a beetle mechanic once.
Parallel is as far as I would go.

I had a look online at the adjustable brackets and I can see how they work but trying to figure out how they would fit in my case. Always easier if you've got the thing in your hand rather than looking at a picture. As it is now, the outer end of the radius arm is only a bit more than the thickness of the bracket away from the subframe. By that I mean that when the bracket is in place, the radius arm only just clears the bracket where it bolts onto the subframe. I'm not sure exactly how much as it's hard to see in there.

I'm going to grab another old bracket from a wreck and see how much adjustment I can get out of elongating the hole a bit. If I get enough, I'll weld on a new plate and fit it up. If I end up with too much toe in, I could use shims. If all goes pearshaped, I'll put my current bracket back on and see how it goes come alignment time and on the road.

Thanks once again for your help.

Rocky

I been using a set of Minisport (UK)'s rear adjustable brackets for may years now. They're simple, stay adjusted and work well .. although a little fiddly to set up.

One benefit is that, once fitted, you don't have to fiddle with the bracket to subframe bolts ever again...

Cheers, Ian
