If you want it to stop like a race car don't fit a booster. (but be prepared to press the pedal hard)
If you want it to stop like a modern road car fit a booster.

I have no booster and greenstuff pads. Coming out of a modern car and into the mini, braking makes me pucker every now and then when I forget how hard I have to press the pedal on the mini. I'm always a bit concerned it's not going to pull up, but thankfully it does. Great pedal feel but you really have to press hard.

I'm watching this thread with interest as I'm seriously considering getting a booster too.

The Cooper S ran a very high boost pressure. The Australian Cooper S was designed for winning Bathurst.
Why would a race/rally car need high boost pressures? Because they had very hard pads to last the race/rally without needing a pad change. These pads needed lots of boost to pull up. (take the booster off and you would be lucky to be able to lock a wheel at all)
These days you could run a lower pressure booster with modern pads and stop much easier.

"The Australian Cooper S was designed for winning Bathurst."

I would have thought in that case, sliding window doors would have used, much lighter but I learn something everyday. :)

They still had to meet local content rules in order to produce them.
