Hi All and thanks in advice.

My new to me car came as a 1968 Mini, it's got an 1100 in it.

Compliance plate states YMG2S1 car number 660.

So my question is is this an Morris 1100 or a very early K?
This thread fits with K viewtopic.php?f=57&t=99548&p=1052277&hilit=YMG2S1#p1052277

Original colour is Snow white which Fits 1968, wiper motor is from 1970 so no help there and starter has 09-68 (but I'd assume in 45 years it's not original)
I can't see the date on the Dizzy.

It doesn't really matter but just trying to figure it out.

Thanks.

Early Mini K. There was 210 of them with ID plates stamped YMG2S1 before the ID plates were dropped and the chassis prefix YG2S1 was added to the radiator shroud.

The body code 2/05 is in the drain gutter above the wiper motor with a body number around 160. Like this -

The chassis number 660 would be on top of the radiator support shroud. Can you check for me that the stamped chassis number is only 660 and no prefix in front of it?

They are quite rare. However that being said YMG2S1 537 is currently on Ebay for $500 - https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/144749659718

Above the wiper is hard to read especially with bonnet on but best I can tell it 211 and 2/04

Oh the Rad shroud it is 718 and I can quite make out the but i think it is YG2S1 (I think) but it's hard to make out.

The previous owner had told me they had a hard time id'ing it for Rego.

2/04 is the body code for the poverty pack Mini 1100.

Your shell has the chassis number YG2S3 718.

If its Birch Grey under the Red paint then the car was most likely a PMG fleet vehicle.

This shell was never factory fitted with an ID or ADR plate. I would remove the Mini K plate and just use the stamped chassis number for rego purposes.

Originally it would have had a magic wand 1098cc engine around the 10YJUH 2000s.

The ID plate is from another car.

Here is a poverty pack Mini 1100 close to your shells number.
https://www.shannons.com.au/auctions/20 ... U56F2FA5A/

YG2S3 728. Although the engine/gearbox was changed to a Mini K with remote shift instead of the magic wand.

Ah joys thanks for the information. Always makes it hard to add things up if something doesn't belong.
