I have an ex morris 1100 engine + gearbox. It looks like the diff is 15:64 or 4.2. So it needs to change otherwise i’ll never get over 80km/h (although it would be nippy :)

Q1 : I assume 3.44 is ok for a warm 1100, anyone with an 1100 suggest otherwise ? (Stage 3 engine, 10” wheels).

With the speedo drive, how can i tell if the speedo drive will match the 3.44, 10” wheels and speedo ? Not sure if the morris 1100 speedo drive is correct. I have a standard black 90m deluxe speedo. Or do i not worry about it and run a gps speedo as well ?

I’ve got a 3.44 on my warm 1098 and it pulls really well through the gears. I’d almost consider a 3.1 ratio if I had one at the time..

To get the speedo working correctly you can change the speedo drive gears to match the new setup. You just need to know what TPM the speedo is and what drive gears you have in the gearbox
