Hi I`m new to this forum.
I have a March 1970 K with lift up handles.
Been sitting in shed for quite a number of yrs. Now mortgage is paid, got free from wife.
I'm thinking it is time to get back to fixing car up.

The Id plate on car shows that it would have been fitted with a original 1100 engine YG2S1. Body # 12391.
However, the other numbers I do not know what they mean except a certain number stands for body colour and trim, but < dont know which is which.
These being 2-3-4-5a-7-20 -10A-15.
Hope someone can help me out.

When doing some body repairs I turned car over on spit and sand came out of screen pillars suggesting that body at some time been blasted back to bare metal, also found when removing door striker fitting found original white paint under.

Thanks in advance for any help

John.

The other numbers are the applicable ADR (Australian Design Rules) that were current when your car was made. They would suggest your car was made/complied after Jan 1971 (or at least built to specs that applied from Jan 71)

List is here:

John - More info here - viewtopic.php?f=57&t=99548

As your car is not currently represented on the Register it can be added if you provide the listed details.

Your car is more likely to be March 1971 given the body number and that the lift up door handles on K's weren't introduced until December 1970, to comply with the relevant ADR from January 1971.
